My Story
My husband and I personally understand your strggles. When our first son was three years old, we were advised to seek support for his speech delay. Little did we know, this was just the beginning. over the past ten years, he has received services for reading, writing, and nearly every other academic area. He has also received services in occupational therapy, physical therapy. We also seriously considered having him tested for Autism.

Our second child fell into the same pattern. He needed help with his speech, academic struggles, dyslexic tendencies, and hyperactivity. We enrolled both of our children in early intervention programs, IEP (Individual Education Plan), extra reading support, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and any extracurricular activities that we believed would benifit our struggling children.

In our reevaluation IEP meeting, we always asked if there was anything else we could be do or any additional services we could take advantage of. The answer was always no - we were doing as much as we could. At one IEP meeting, we were told “we needed to lower our expectations or our children”. This phrase still haunts us to this day!
Shortly after that statement, we decided to try something new and began homeschooling. My husband and I knew our children were intelligent - maybe they just needed to be taught differently? While homeschooling helped, their struggles remained a major concern! We were running out of hope and once again we found ourselves seraching for answers, even considering autism testing. However, we were never in favor of
labeling our children and had no plans to medicate them. We knew that there had to be something
more we could do!

Finally, the answer we had been searching for came! A friend asked if we had ever heard of Neuro-Developmental Delay (NDD)? I began researching NDD and quickly realized this was unlike anything else we had tried before - in the best way! The first screening questionnaire that I filled out described my children perfictly! I immediately found a therapist, and from our very first visit I knew this was the answer we were looking for.
I knew I had to share this therapy with other families who needed it.

The transformation in our children is anything short of a miracle! I've witnessed major improvements in balance and coordination, memory, language, maturity, and academic performance. I am SO glad I didn’t “lower my expectations of my children”!

At Patterns of Hope, I am now seeing the same increadible results with the children I work with. Neuro-Developmental Delay affects the whole family, and our goal is to renew HOPE for you and provide the support your child needs for a successful future!
