Get Started

If you want to learn more about what Patterns of Hope can offer your child, then follow the steps below. We always start with a screening questionnaire and a phone consultation to determine whether or not this program is a good fit for your child. You will also see our typical appointment schedule. Most of this work is done at home. I teach you how to work with your child and we meet periodically to make sure we are on track.

Step 1

Questionnaire & Phone Consultation

The first step is to fill our the screening questionnaire below so we can schedule your phone consultation. During your phone call we will review your questionnaire and get any additional information that you think is important. This helps us ensure that this program is the right fit for you child and make a plan for them.

Step 2

Optional Mini-Assessment

If you are unable to complete the screening questionnaire, or you would rather meet with me in person to assess your child/children to determine whether or not they are a fit for the program we are more than happy to accommodate.

1 hour session

At this assessment we will assess your child/children's

  • Gross Muscle Coordination and Balance

  • Aberrant Reflexes (Just the main ones)

  • Tests for Cerebellar Involvement

  • Tests for Patterns of Motor Development

Step 3

Comprehensive Assessment

The Full Comprehensive Assessment is used to create a baseline of your child’s developmental functioning. Each child has a different pattern and with this assessment we will create an individual plan based on their individual needs.  This assessment is going to be your biggest investment (of both time and money) but it is what allows us to determine the right program for your child/children.

4 hours session

The full assessment includes:

  • Tests for Gross Muscle Coordination and Balance

  • Tests for Patterns of Motor Development

  • Tests for Cerebellar Involvement

  • Tests for Dysdiadochokineasia (rapid alternate movements)

  • Tests for Aberrant Reflexes (both primitive and postural)

  • Oculo-Motor Screening

  • Visual-Perception Screening

  • Diagnostic Assessment Report

  • First Exercise

  • 1 hour Phone Assessment Review to discuss the results of the assessment.

*I never want finances to be the reason a child can’t get the help they need. I will do whatever I can to help make Patterns of Hope cost effective for your family. Unfortunately, we do not accept insurance at this time. We do accept cash, check, visa, master card, American Express, or discover cards for a small fee. I am always happy to create a payment plan that works for you family.

Step 4

Review Assessments

2-hour session

Follow-up visits are scheduled every 8 weeks. During these visits we will re-screen and make adjustments to your child's exercise.

*If you ever have any concerns about whether or not you are doing an exercise correctly you can schedule a time to come into the office and have it checked at no charge. Your child's safety and well-being are always my upmost concern.
